One of the Best Drawings Ever (in my humble opinion)
I remember one day, about two and half years ago, when I was pregnant with Brennan, being at my friend Elisha Banks' house with her 3-year-old daughter, Anna. While I was there Anna completed a first for herself, her own self portrait. She drew a picture of herself. Elisha was so surprised and thrilled that it excited me to be able to celebrate those same milestones with my own children.
Well, today Abigail reached that milestone. She was sitting on the recliner writing with a ballpoint on a legal pad. I could here her saying, "I have to draw staright hair, because I have straight hair." Then I say to her, "Are drawing a picture of yourself?" She says, "Yes." And I think to myself that it is probably some more srcibbles and lines like usual that I will praise adoringly anyway. But as I leaned over the recliner, to my amazement, I saw this:

Wow! I was thrilled as much, if not more, than Elisha was that day. I felt like a real parent today as I was brimming with pride over something so simple and imperfect. Good job, Abigail! I'm excited to see God continue to develop your creativity.
Love,
Mommy
