Where's the hair?!
And I'm not talking about on my husband's head.
We got Abigail's hair cut...short! After much persistence about 1)not chewing on her hair, 2)not using her hair as a security tool that promotes her thumb sucking, and 3)hiding behind her hair, we felt it be better to give her shorter do. The only hesitation, of course, was how much we loved our baby girl's long silky hair. Then after prayerful consideration we came to the agreement that helping our daughter overcome some insecurities at a young, healthy age was more important than appearance.
So here is the bonus...she is even more beautiful now! And she really likes her hair. And she is really beginning to overcome a lot of her shyness. Wow! I guess that is many bonuses. God is so good!
After we got her hair cut, we bought her some gum as a special treat (it helps her not suck her thumb). And we raved and raved about how much we LOVE her hair cut. She now sports her new do willingly and with smiles. It's a good thing. Here she is:
