Are you thankful enough for YOUR tv?
We watched an excellent movie last night "End of the Spear" about the five missionaries who lost their lives trying to reach the Waodoni tribe for Christ and their wives and family carrying on in doing so after their deaths. It was so good. It was amazing to watch Christians live, thrive, and find so much joy in extremely primitive conditions just fulfilling the great commission. It was actually quite convicting.
Upon return of our two-week vacation from Texas we discovered our less-than-one-month-old 32" LCD tv was not working properly. The color had changed to pink and green hues ONLY. We had no idea why and could get nothing to fix it. Well Rick and I were both quite frustrated, both exuding it in our own ways, but nevertheless completely dissatisfied with our situation in life...a broken tv. No sick children with a life-threatning illness, no loss of home or shelter, no death of a loved one, no lack of food, no major blow to our local body of Christ...just a broken tv. Were we serious?! I have to tell you that when I realized the absurdity of our frustration and the lack of thankfulness for what we do have, I was/am completely embarrassed before our Lord. We have life and have it abundantly amd have it for eternity and have an opportunity to share it with others. The only thing that should really get us down is the closed ears of the lost. Take time to ponder on that.
God is really, genuinely good.

It is wearing trying to consider the hours we have invested looking for plasma tv websites.
