Wonderful Words of Life

When crafting the lyrics of a song unto the Lord, you are always looking for fresh, new creative ways to proclaim timeless truths.  I've come to realize though, that there are some words that just can't be adequately replaced or transformed.  Even some words that we don't fully understand the meanings to, transcend our minds and carry power just in the voice of them spoken...like the name of JESUS for example.

HOSANNA (Save us, we pray.)

HALLELUJAH (a shout or song of praise) This word is actually translated the same universally.  We can know when we shout "hallelujah" that is literally in union with God's children all over the world...pretty cool!

HOLY (set apart)

MAJESTY (sovereign power)

ANCIENT OF DAYS (Unto Whom is then given dominion, and glory, and a kingdom … which shall not pass away.)

LAMB OF GOD (the ultimate sacrifice)

Any other words you would deem as eternally worthy for worship of God?  This songwriter would love to know!

May God fill you with words, known and unknown, that glorify Him,

Melissa

Right now, my word is 'Merciful'- showing or giving mercy; "sought merciful treatment for the captives"; "a merciful god" --another one said choosing to forgive or punish lightly. As much as I have whined, complained against my circumstances & the church, God has continued to pour out love and mercy on me. It is very humbling to still be shown such treatment in the midst of my selfishness.

My word is 'endure' or 'endurance'. It sort of defines where I am in life right now. Graham Cooke speaks a lot about 'inheritance words', words that come from God and are spoken into our lives, words that we can hold on to in the midst of our various crises. This word challenges me and I trust will one day more fully characterize who I am becoming in Christ. God bless you, Guys!

I've been giving this some thought, for several days now. Here are a few words to describe my Father, and why I need to remember to worship Him with all of my heart. 1) Rock - always there, never changing, a firm foundation; 2) King (no explanation needed I don't believe); 3) Provider - all I have, all I need comes from Him, and true to His Word He even provides the desires of my heart (well, when they are good for me).

Thanks Melissa for your insightful postings.
